self care essentials

People in need require more than food, Shelter and clothing to thrive. Their are certain essential things needed to remain healthy and productive in daily life. Those living beneath the LICO (Low Income Cut Off) can not afford them, and the social safety net does not fill the needs of a growing segment of the population.

For this reason, in 2008 we tasked our Executive Director with designing a “street needs assessment” in order to benchmark the most prevalent and basic needs of those we served.

From these finding we have compiled a list of the 15 most requested items. We further subdivided them into three distinct categories, selecting the top 5 needs in each. These categories are health, hygiene and grooming. The final list was complied into the table below. Learn more
